The Galaxy S23 is not the only upcoming Samsung phone to have had its exterior design revealed ahead of launch through leaked renders. Other Galaxy A mid-range phones have gone through the same motions, and now, the Galaxy M54 5G is joining in on the fun. The first seemingly-official renders of Galaxy M54 5G have now emerged, and the phone follows Samsung's design philosophy for 2023, albeit with some interesting exceptions.
Like all the other Galaxy smartphones for 2023 we've seen so far, the Galaxy M54 5G has individual circular cutouts for each rear-facing camera and a vertical camera layout. But that's where the similarities end. Unlike most other phones Samsung plans to release this year, the Galaxy M54 5G doesn't have a flat back panel or an almost-flat frame.
Instead, the Galaxy M54 5G appears to have a 2.5D back panel, meaning that the edges are slightly curved. In these renders, the metallic frame is also different from what we've seen so far. It is rounder rather than having an almost flat profile and has a chrome paint finish instead of sharing the same color as the back panel — at least for one of the two color options revealed.
Galaxy M54 5G color options: A callback to Cloud White and Aura Glow?
The renders and 360-degree video below (via MySmartPrice) reveal two color options for the Galaxy M54 5G. One is navy blue (or Dark Blue), and this one does seem to have a more uniform paint job across the back panel and the metallic frame.
The other color option (Silver) has a gradient and brings back memories of the Galaxy S10 Cloud White and/or the Galaxy Note 10 Aura Glow color options. The gradient appears to change depending on how the light hits the back of the phone. And the Galaxy M54 5G might be the only — or one of the very few — Samsung phone(s) for 2023 to have a gradient paint finish.
There's no official release date for the Galaxy M54 5G yet, but now that renders have surfaced, the phone might not be too far off from release. The device got spotted in the database of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), carrying model number SM-M546B. An Exynos 1380 chipset could power it, and Samsung should ship the M54 5G with Android 13 and One UI 5.0.
