Samsung has covered the low-end smartphone market for 2024 with devices such as the Galaxy A05, A15, and A25. But it's no secret that the company is also working on two new mid-range Galaxy A phones, i.e., the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35.
The Galaxy A35 was just spotted at the Radio Research Agency (RRA) in Korea, and a live photo of the device has emerged for the first time.
The photo reveals a familiar design with a flat back panel and individual circular camera cutouts. The image also confirms that the Galaxy A35 features a flat frame with the so-called “Key Island” design element around the side buttons.
This design cue helps the Galaxy A series for 2024 retain the familiar One-mass design language while making it easier for users to differentiate the lower-cost models from the Galaxy S24 flagships and the Galaxy S23 FE at a glance.
Galaxy A35 rumored specifications
The RRA application doesn't reveal much about the Galaxy A35 other than the model number SM-A356N, which confirms the expected 5G capabilities.
Nevertheless, a previous encounter with the Galaxy A35 (model number SM-A356U) via the online benchmark Geekbench suggests that the phone should be equipped with at least 6GB of RAM and the Exynos 1380 chip.
The chip has four Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 2.0Ghz, four A78 cores running at 2.4Ghz, a Mali-G68 MP5 (5-core) graphics chip, and an AI Engine with 4.9TOPS.
The Galaxy A35 also appears to run Android 14, which means it should ship with One UI 6. Whether it will be version 6.1 is unknown. At the moment, the Galaxy S24 series is the only one to have access to one UI 6.1 exclusively.
As to when Samsung might announce the Galaxy A35 officially, it could happen in March, but there's no official word on the matter. For what it's worth, the Galaxy A34 was announced on March 14, 2023, and went on sale before the end of the same month.
Thanks for the tip!
