The first Galaxy S24 software update has been eagerly anticipated ever since the new flagship series went on sale. But Samsung made us wait a little longer than we had hoped before officially announcing the update and the changes it will bring to the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra.
However, Samsung didn't provide a concrete release date, only saying the update would be released in February. And it seems we may have to wait another week before the update becomes available for download over the air.
The actual rollout could take another week to begin
Samsung revealed to 9to5Google that the rollout will start on February 22. Since these updates roll out in phases, Galaxy S24 owners in some markets could be waiting until the end of February or even early March before the update goes live in their country.
According to Samsung, the first Galaxy S24 series update will add a “Vividness” slider in the display settings so users can choose how vibrant they want the screen to be. Out of the box, the vivid profile is as dull as the natural profile, only offering white balance adjustment for a cooler or warmer look.
The update will also numerous aspects of the camera experience, including zoom functionality, Portrait Mode, Nightography, and rear camera video shooting capabilities, though Samsung doesn't explain what these improvements are.
