TL;DR

  • Samsung has started rolling out the first software update for the Galaxy Watch 9.
  • The update includes the August 2026 security patch and fixes 56 security issues.
  • It is currently limited to South Korea, with wider availability expected soon.

Last month, Samsung launched its new flagship non-Ultra smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 9. Now, the brand has released the first software update for the wearable.

The first update for the Galaxy Watch 9 brings the August 2026 security patch, which addresses 56 security issues present in the previous firmware.

Currently, Samsung seems to be rolling out the first update for the Galaxy Watch 9 only in its home country, South Korea. The update for the 44mm non-cellular variant has a size of 193.09MB and firmware version L350XXS1AZH4 (via Samsung Community).

Based on Samsung’s smartwatch update rollout history, we expect the brand to make the first Galaxy Watch 9 update available in more countries over the next few days. You can check if the company has released it in your region by opening the Galaxy Wearable app and going to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
