Last month, a popular analyst, Tim Long, claimed that Apple will price its first book-style foldable phone, the iPhone 18 Fold, which, according to multiple reports, is coming next year, at $2,299. That will make it 20% more expensive than Samsung’s latest book-style foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which costs $1,899.

The first foldable iPhone's main rival will be Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. Considering that the South Korean tech giant will continue the same pricing for its book-style foldable phone for 2026, the Cupertino-based tech giant’s offering will be 20% costlier than its direct rival. Well, today, we have another report suggesting the same thing.

On Weibo, Instant Digital claims that Apple’s first iPhone with a foldable display will cost between $2,100 and $2,300, which is in line with the previous report. If Samsung doesn’t get greedy looking at these prices by then, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will have the upper hand in terms of price.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is significantly costlier than non-foldable high-end phones, which keeps many people from buying it. Considering that the foldable iPhone will be even costlier, a first-generation device, and more fragile than traditional phones, it may have fewer buyers.

It is also possible that people may see that the foldable iPhone serves the purpose of an iPhone as well as an iPad and costs less than owning the two devices separately. In that case, a lot of people will buy it. Even if that's the case, Samsung will benefit from the iPhone 18 Fold as it is supplying Apple with foldable OLED panels for the device.
