Samsung has released the January 2022 security update to many Galaxy smartphones and tablets over the past three weeks. Earlier, it was released to mid-range and high-end devices. Now, the new security patch is being released to ultra-affordable smartphones.
The South Korean firm has started rolling out the January 2022 security update to the Galaxy A01. The update comes with firmware version A015FXXS5BUL1, and it is available in Russia. Samsung could release the update in more markets over the next few days. The January 2022 patch fixes various vulnerabilities, as explained by Samsung.
If you are a Galaxy A01 user in Russia, you can download the new firmware right away by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows computer.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy A01 two years ago with Android 10-based One UI 2.5. The phone received the Android 11 update last year. The South Korean firm is likely to release the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to the affordable smartphone sometime in the first half of this year.
