Samsung is releasing its latest software update to many old low-end and mid-range devices. The latest device from the company's stable to get the new update is the Galaxy A01. Released in late 2019, the affordable smartphone has now started getting the March 2023 security update.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A01 bumps up the phone's firmware version to A015U1UES5CWC1. It brings the March 2023 security patch that fixes more than 50 vulnerabilities found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update doesn't bring any new features, but it might include general bug fixes and stability improvements. The update is currently available in the US, but it is limited to carrier-unlocked units.
If you have an unlocked version of the Galaxy A01 in the US, you can install the new software update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also opt to download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it using the Odin tool on your Windows PC.
Samsung released the Galaxy A01 in late 2019 with Android 10 onboard. It received the Android 11 update in mid-2021 and the Android 12 update last year. It won't receive Android OS updates anymore. However, it will continue to get security updates for the rest of the year.
