The Galaxy A02 has finally started getting the Android 11 update. The new software is currently rolling out in Russia, but it could reach more markets over the next few weeks. The update also brings the September 2021 security patch that fixes more than 50 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities.
Samsung has released the new software update to the Galaxy A02 with firmware version A022GDXU2BUI3. It brings Android 11 along with One UI 3.1. It includes new features such as one-time permissions, chat bubbles, auto permissions reset, a slightly revamped UI, more lock screen widgets, improved stock apps, and a redesigned Device Care section.
If you are a Galax A02 user in Russia, you might soon receive a notification of the new update. If you don't want to wait for the update to arrive on its own, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the entire firmware file from our firmware section and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy A02 earlier this year with Android 10-based One UI 2 on board. The device could get the Android 12 update sometime next year, and it could be the smartphone's last major Android OS update.
