Samsung has started rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy A02. The new software brings the March 2023 security patch to the smartphone to fix security flaws and make the device more reliable. The update is currently rolling out in some Asian and European countries, and it could expand to more countries soon.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A02 bumps up the phone's firmware version to A022FXXU3BWB5. The new update is currently available in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Netherlands, the Philippines, and Vietnam. It brings the March 2023 security patch that fixes more than 50 security flaws and vulnerabilities. While it doesn't bring any new features, it could include some bug fixes and stability improvements.
How to download Galaxy A02 March 2023 security update
If you have a Galaxy A02 and if you live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download the new security update on your smartphone. To do that, you need to head over to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. Alternatively, you can opt to download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A02 in early 2021 with Android 10 onboard. The smartphone received the Android 11 update in late 2021 and is mysteriously still running Android 11 despite even older and less expensive phones having received the Android 12 update.
