Samsung has been pushing the Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update to its smartphones and tablets at a very fast pace. The company not only rolled out the latest OS to its flagship smartphones in a record timeframe but also offered it to entry-level models in a very short span of time. However, there’s one Samsung device that hasn’t even received the Android 12 OS so far, and this device is none other than the Galaxy A02.
The Galaxy A02 was released almost two years ago with Android 10 (One UI 2.0) onboard. Over the span of two years, the phone has received only one new version of the OS, which is Android 11 (One UI 3.1.1). Considering that the phone is supposed to get two new versions of the OS, it should’ve received Android 12 long ago.
It’s not like Samsung overlooks entry-level smartphones when it comes to software updates. The company has released the Android 12 update to smartphones that are even more affordable than the Galaxy A02, such as the Galaxy A01. That’s why it’s a mystery why Samsung is not releasing new versions of the OS to the Galaxy A02.
Considering that even the Galaxy A01 received the Android 12 update long ago, we believe that this is unfair to the owners of the Galaxy A02 to be still stuck with Android 11. We hope that Samsung is reading this post, understands the pain of the users, and quickly offers either an Android 12 or Android 13 update to the device.
