The mysterious low-cost Galaxy A04e was spotted in a Bluetooth certificate yesterday, and it didn't take long for Samsung to make the new budget phone official, albeit quietly. The Korean tech giant has just silently confirmed the Galaxy A04e through its portal dedicated to media assets. The latter revealed a handful of specifications along with dozens of official renders, which you can see in the gallery below.
Let's start with the most obvious bits of information, namely, the exterior design. The Galaxy A04e is shown in three color options: blue, bronze, and black. The budget phone has an Infinity-V display cut for the selfie sensor and carries two rear-facing cameras next to an LED flash.
The phone appears to have a polycarbonate unibody design, meaning it doesn't have a metal / plastic frame that separates the display area from the back panel. Instead, the latter wraps around the phone's edges, which is a common design trait for Samsung's budget-oriented devices.
Galaxy A04e key specifications revealed
Samsung's new low-cost smartphone has an HD+ 6.5-inch LCD PLS, a 13MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 5MP selfie shooter (f/2.2).
In terms of memory options, the Galaxy A04e will be available with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32/64/128GB of built-in storage. The device has a microSD card slot that can read SD cards of up to 1TB of memory. Samsung hasn't confirmed the chipset that drives the Galaxy A04e, but since the phone appears to share many similarities with the unannounced Galaxy M04, the e-branded variant could conceal the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC under its hood.
Other characteristics confirmed by Samsung today include a 5,000mAh battery, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, Samsung Knox security, and One UI Core 4.1 on top of Android 12. The device is equipped with light and proximity sensors and an accelerometer.
Color and memory options may vary by market, but Samsung has not yet revealed when or where the Galaxy A04e will go on sale first. We'll keep you posted once more details emerge.
