The Galaxy A04s has so far stood quietly in the background while the majority of recent news revolved around Samsung's imminent Unpacked event and the upcoming foldable phones. Nevertheless, Samsung didn't forget about the its cheaper phones such as the Galaxy A04s, and a new report has shed more light on this unreleased smartphone's status and whereabouts.
Samsung has reportedly fired up its production lines and started manufacturing the Galaxy A04s at its facility in Noida. The Noida factory got inaugurated in 2018 and became the biggest smartphone manufacturing facility in the world.
The Galaxy A04s is now reportedly entering the full production phase at the Noida facility in India. And rumor has it that Samsung plans to release the device in late September or early October before the festive season kicks off. The Galaxy A04s should strike a balance between specs and affordability, although Samsung might be planning to release both an LTE and a 5G model. Either way, it should make for a great affordable phones for the shopping season.
Samsung may have equipped the Galaxy A04s with the Exynos 850 chipset, as revealed by previous benchmark entries. The phone was also approved by the FCC recently. Preliminary renders reveal a triple-camera setup, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a display with an Infinity-V notch for the selfie camera. It's a budget phone through and through, and we'll have to wait to see if it can punch above its weight class.
