A few days ago, the Galaxy A12 started getting the Android 12 update in India. Now, the new version of Android is also available on some carrier networks in the US. Sadly, the update doesn't bring the September 2022 or even the August 2022 security update.
The Android 12 update for the carrier-locked Galaxy A12 comes with firmware version A125USQU3CVG4 in the US. The update is available on Sprint and T-Mobile's networks, but we expect it to expand to other markets over the next few days. The July 2022 security patch fixes dozens of privacy and security vulnerabilities.
If you are a Galaxy A12 user in the US with a carrier-locked version, you can now download and install the Android 12 update on your phone by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
What's new in Galaxy A12 Android 12 update?
With this new update, Samsung has improved the UI design and styling, Dark Mode, the styling of widgets, and even the widget picker UI on the Galaxy A12. There are new lock screen widgets and customization options. The company has improved the privacy and security of the phone through quick setting toggles to enable/disable the camera and mic across the OS. There are dedicated privacy indicators, too.
Samsung has also improved all the stock apps, cleaned up the stock camera app's design, and improved photo and video editing features. More accessibility features have been added, and the existing ones have been improved. The Device Care section of the phone has also received a minor redesign.
