The Galaxy A12 is the latest Samsung smartphone to get the August 2022 security update. The company first released its newest security patch to the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S21. Then, the update was released to more high-end and mid-range Galaxy devices, and the lower-end devices started getting it.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A12 comes with firmware version A127FXXS6BVH4, which is available in Russia. The update could be expanded to other markets within the next few days. The new software includes the August 2022 security patch that fixes multiple security vulnerabilities related to Samsung Knox, Samsung DeX, improper access control, MAC address leaks via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and more.
If you are a Galaxy A12 or Galaxy A12 Nacho user, you can download and install the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A12 in late 2020 with Android 10 on board. The entry-level smartphone received the Android 11 update in mid-2021 and the Android 12 update earlier this month. It probably won't receive major Android OS updates in the future.
