Samsung was the first Android OEM to release the March 2022 Android security update. It has already updated various high-end and mid-range phones with the new security patch. Now, the company has started rolling it out to the Galaxy A12.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A12 comes with firmware version A125FZHS2BVC2. The update brings the March 2022 security patch, and it's available in Hong Kong as of now. More countries across the world could soon get access to this update. The new software might also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
According to Samsung's documentation, the March 2022 security update fixes more than 50 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities.
If you are a Galaxy A12 user in Hong Kong, you can get the latest software update via the OTA method by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy A12 in late 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. The entry-level smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in mid-2021. It is expected to get the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update within the next few months.
