Last week, Samsung released the One UI 5.1 update to the Galaxy A14 5G's carrier-locked version on Verizon's network. Today, the company has expanded the availability of the update. The One UI 5.1 update is now available for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A14 5G on US Cellular's network.
The One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy A14 5G's carrier-locked version comes with firmware version A146USQU2BWD1 in the US. The update also brings the April 2023 security patch that fixes over 60 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones. More carriers will roll out the One UI 5.1 update to the Galaxy A14 5G over the next few days.
If you have a Galaxy A14 5G's carrier-locked version in the US, you can now download and install the One UI 5.1 update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the appropriate firmware file (as mentioned above) from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Galaxy A14 5G One UI 5.1 update: New features
The One UI 5.1 update brings the ability to view and edit EXIF information of images and videos in the Gallery app. It also makes multitasking easier by showing up frequently used apps first when you open the split-screen multitasking menu and allowing you to maximize or minimize an app by dragging that app window's corners.
Samsung has also added the ability to change the phone's wallpaper based on Routines for the Galaxy A14 5G. More actions and conditions, such as font style, Quick Share, ringtone, and touch sensitivity, have been added to the Modes & Routines app. The stock Weather app shows the most important information toward the start and has a new Dynamic Weather widget. It has also received an hourly precipitation graph. The Settings app shows search suggestions.
Samsung Internet now offers a common search for bookmarks and browsing history. One UI 5.1 also brings the Battery Widget that shows the battery charge level of the phone and its connected accessories like smartwatches and wireless earbuds. You can now assign a different emoji to each person for up to three people in AR Emoji Camera's Mask Mode.
