A couple of months after getting the One UI 5.1 update, the Galaxy A14 5G has started getting the May 2023 security update. Samsung has started rolling out the update to the Galaxy A14 5G in some Asian countries, and other countries are expected to get the update within the next few weeks.
Galaxy A14 5G May 2023 security update: What's new?
The latest software update for the Galaxy A14 5G (SM-A146B) bumps up the phone's firmware version to A146BXXU2BWE1. The update is currently available in India and Sri Lanka. It includes the May 2023 security patch that fixes over 70 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets. It might also include additional bug fixes and stability improvements.
If you live in India or Sri Lanka and own a Galaxy A14 5G, you can now check for the new software update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A14 5G earlier this year with Android 13-based One UI 5.0 onboard. The device received the One UI 5.1 update a couple of months ago. It will get at least two Android OS updates in the future, starting with the Android 14 update later this year.
