Samsung's software update team has been firing on all cylinders over the last week or so. Nearly a dozen Galaxy devices were updated to One UI 6 between November 20 to November 26, and Samsung is continuing the streak this week by releasing the Android 14/One UI 6 update for the Galaxy A14, one of Samsung's most affordable phones.
The Galaxy A14's Android 14 update coming out this early is a huge surprise, as Samsung has always kept budget phones at the very end of the queue whenever a new version of Android and One UI comes out. The A14 is getting the update ahead of flagships like the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, and it's fantastic to see an affordable Galaxy phone getting such good treatment.

The update is currently available for the Galaxy A14 5G, but hopefully, the LTE model won't be too far behind. Installing the update will bump the device's firmware version up to A146BXXU2CWK9. At 1.8GB or so, the Galaxy A14 5G's One UI 6 update is clearly not as feature-packed as the ones released for Samsung's mid-range and flagship phones, which is to be expected as the Galaxy A14 duo run One UI Core, a stripped down version of One UI for budget smartphones.
The update has made its debut in India; since this is a budget phone we're talking about, it remains to be seen how quickly the update start rolling out in more countries. But whenever it does, you will be able to download it from the phone's Settings » Software update menu. You can also download the full Android 14 firmware from our archives for manually upgrading the phone, but this method will require a Windows PC and a USB-C cable.
