Samsung is working on an entry-level smartphone that will likely launch later this year or early next year. It is the Galaxy A16, and its battery-related information has appeared online.
Galaxy A16 has two battery variants
The Galaxy A16's batteries have appeared for the first time. Batteries with model numbers EB-BA166ASE and EB-BA166ASY have been spotted in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification database (via 91Mobiles). These two variants are likely from two battery suppliers for a reliable supply chain.
These batteries are for the 5G variant of the phone. It isn't clear whether the company will launch a 4G version of the device, as 5G chips are now more affordable.
While the battery size hasn't been revealed, looking at Samsung's track record, the Galaxy A16 might have a 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy A13 5G, Galaxy A14 5G, and Galaxy A15 5G are also powered by a 5,000mAh battery.

Alongside the Galaxy A16, the batteries of the Galaxy S25 have also appeared in the BIS certification database. Those batteries have model numbers EB-BS938ABE and EB-BS938ABY, probably coming from two suppliers. More information about the phone, including the battery capacity, might be revealed later this year.
