The Galaxy A25 is finally catching up with many other low-cost A-series phones that have already received Samsung's newest version of One UI. Galaxy A25 users in at least a few big markets have started getting the One UI 6.1 update.

Galaxy A25 user reports we found on the official Community forums and in our mailbox (thanks for the tip, 정성현) confirm that Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for the low-cost phone in the USA and Korea.

Stateside, the One UI 6.1 update carries firmware version A256USQU3BXE5, and similarly, the update is identified by firmware version A256NKSU2BXE5 in Korea. The security patch appears to be the one released in May.

As of this writing, the update appears to have a somewhat limited reach, at least in the USA, where it might be rolling out on the Xfinity network first. Nevertheless, the update is bound to reach more customers in more markets soon.

As to what you're getting out of this new firmware, One UI 6.1 refines the user experience with better animations, streamlined navigation gestures (although Samsung's navigation gestures are removed), more lock screen widgets, enhanced Gallery tools, reorganized Calendar settings and more stickers, individual reminder backgrounds, custom alarm layouts, improved SmartThings Find, more intuitive Weather widgets, and more.

The story continues after the video…

One of the more notable One UI 6.1 features is the Galaxy AI suite. However, the Galaxy A25 doesn't get it with this latest release and, in fact, never will. Galaxy AI is reserved for more powerful phones like the recent Fan Edition models and higher.

If you want to update your Galaxy A25 or check whether One UI 6.1 has reached the phone in your market, you can visit our firmware page or open the Settings app on your phone, go to “Software update,” and tap “Download and install.”
