The Galaxy A30 has a biannual security update status, which means it is eligible to get two security updates yearly. Well, this year’s first security update for the phone is here. Samsung is rolling out January 2023 security patch to the Galaxy A30. The update is currently available for the phone’s international variant (SM-A305F).
The new update for the Galaxy A30 brings firmware version A305FDDS6CWA3. It offers the January 2023 security patch, which fixes more than fifty security-related issues. The update is currently rolling out in India and Sri Lanka. However, as we speak, Samsung might be making the latest update for the Galaxy A30 available in more regions. Since the update is most likely rolling out in phases, some users might receive it before others.
Once the latest update becomes available for your device, a notification about its availability will pop up on your phone’s screen. But in some cases, the phone might not notify you about the update. To check for the update manually, go to Settings » Software Update and click on Download and install. Alternatively, you can also head to our firmware section, download the update, and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A30 in February 2019 with Android 9 (One UI 1.0) onboard. In 2020, it released the Android 10 (One UI 2.0) update to the device. The Galaxy A30 received the Android 11 (One UI 3.1) update in 2021, which was its last major software update. While the phone will not receive the Android 13 update, it will keep getting security updates at least till next year.
