Samsung promised that it would release the One UI 5.1 update to its recent high-end smartphones in February 2023, and it did. All other devices were meant to get the update from March. However, it looks like Samsung is already releasing the One UI 5.1 update to even mid-range smartphones. The Galaxy A33 5G and the Galaxy A53 5G have started getting the One UI 5.1 update in South Korea.
The One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy A33 5G bears firmware version A336NKSU3CWB3, while the Galaxy A53 5G's One UI 5.1 update comes with firmware version A536NKSU4CWB3. These updates also bring the February 2023 security patch to mid-range smartphones to fix over four dozen security vulnerabilities. In the coming weeks, Samsung might release the One UI 5.1 update to the Galayx A33 5G and the Galaxy A53 5G in other countries.
How to update Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A53 5G to One UI 5.1?
If you are a Galaxy A33 5G or Galaxy A53 5G user in South Korea, you can download and install the One UI 5.1 update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually after backing up your personal data.
Samsung's Galaxy A33 5G, Galaxy A53 5G, and Galaxy A73 5G phones debuted with Android 12-based One UI 4 software onboard. The company promised to release four major Android OS updates to these three phones, and it has stayed true to its promise till now. The devices received the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update towards the end of 2023.
