The Galaxy A33 5G is getting the July 2022 security update. If this sounds familiar, it's probably because the July patch started rolling out in Asia a couple of weeks ago. Now, the same update is available for the Galaxy A33 5G in Europe (SM-A336B).
The update carries firmware version A336BXXU2AVG2, and if you know how to read Samsung firmware numbers, you may have noticed that this is not just a routine security patch. It's not a full-fledged feature update either but should include changes and improvements that extend beyond security and into One UI. Unfortunately, there's no official changelog to go by, so we'll hope for the best.
Samsung is rolling out the update across Europe. As of this writing, the firmware is available in Slovenia, Portugal, Poland, the UK, Italy, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, and France. The July 2022 security patch fixes 41 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposure items.
If you're using the Galaxy A33 5G in one of these markets, you should be able to download the new update by opening the Settings app on your phone, tapping “Software update,” then “Download and install.”
Alternatively, you can download the official firmware files from our website and install the update manually using Samsung's official utility software.
