Less than a week into May, Samsung has already released the month's security update for a number of Galaxy devices. Now, two more devices are being added to the list.
The Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A52 5G are getting the May security update in a handful of countries. For the Galaxy A33, Samsung released a separate update, which included the April 2023 security patch, a few hours ago in some markets, which means the May update won't be coming to all Galaxy A33 users at the same time.
The new update for the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A52 5G carries firmware version A336MUBS4CWD4 and A526BXXS3EWD8 respectively. Neither handset is getting any features with the new firmware, and while the April A33 update Samsung launched in some countries yesterday did have at least one new feature (Image Clipper), that's unfortunately not the case with the May update that's rolling out in other markets.
To grab the latest update on your Galaxy A33 or Galaxy A52 5G, open the phone's Settings app, navigate to the Software update option, and tap Download and install. Our firmware archive is open for all as an alternative method for making the jump to the new firmware, though you will need a Windows PC for doing so.
