Samsung is on a roll this week when it comes to software updates. It released the stable One UI 9.0 update for several phones, including the Galaxy A27, Galaxy A36, Galaxy A37, Galaxy A56, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Now, it has expanded the update to the Galaxy A36 in the US.

Galaxy A36 now has One UI 9 in the US

The stable One UI 9.0 update, based on Android 17, is now available for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A36 in the US. It comes with firmware version A366USQUADZIF and includes the September 2026 security patch. The update for the factory-unlocked version of the phone doesn't seem to be live just yet.

If you have a Galaxy A36 and live in the US, you should check for the One UI 9 update. To do that, open the Settings app on your phone, navigate to Software update, and tap the Check for updates button. If the update is available, it will start downloading. When the phone is ready, tap Restart Now.

What is new in One UI 9 update for the Galaxy A36?

This update brings Android 17 and all its underlying changes and improvements. It makes the Quick Panel and the lock screen clock widget even more customizable. Samsung has also revamped the Samsung Health app's UI design to give it a fresher, more modern look.

Samsung has also introduced a new version of Bixby powered by large language models, meaning it is better at understanding natural language and remembers the context of a conversation. There are new Bixby widgets, too.

Additionally, One UI 9 brings a dedicated Warranty and care section to the Settings app, along with improved location access transparency.
