Samsung has released the July 2022 security update to one more phone in the US. This time, the update has been released to the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A42 5G. The smartphone could soon get the update in more countries as well.
The new update has arrived to the Galaxy A42 5 G's carrier-locked version with firmware version A426U1UES4BVF1 in the US. The July 2022 security patch brings fixes for over 50 privacy and security vulnerabilities. It also includes general bug fixes and device stability improvements.
The mid-range 5G smartphone debuted with Android 10 in mid-2020. Samsung released the Android 11-based One UI 3 update to the Galaxy A42 5G in the first half of 2021. Earlier this year, the device received the Android 12-based One UI 4 update.
If you have a Galaxy A42 5G in the US and if it's a carrier-locked version, you can download the new update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also choose to flash the new firmware manually if you're familiar with the procedure.
