After releasing the Android 12 update to most of its high-end phones last month, Samsung has set its sight on mid-range devices. The company has released the Android 12 update to the Galaxy A42 a few days after releasing it to the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52s, and the Galaxy A72.
The Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy A42 comes with firmware version A426BXXU3CUL9. The new software is currently rolling out in Poland, but it could expand the coverage to more countries (especially Europe) over the next couple of weeks. Sadly, the update includes the December 2021 security patch and not the latest patch from Samsung.
If you are a Galaxy A42 user in Poland, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and clicking on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware for your device from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Galaxy A42 Android 12 (One UI 4.0) features
The One UI 4.0 update is based on Android 12. It brings all the standard Android 12 features, including Material You (Color Palette), Privacy Dashboard, quick setting toggles for camera and microphone access, privacy indicators, approximate location option, and better accessibility.
Samsung has also refreshed the UI design with One UI 4.0. The company has implemented a new widget styling, a new widget picker UI, improved AoD and Dark Mode, and integrated new and improved stock apps. The South Korean firm has also improved Bixby and Bixby Routines.
