Samsung is already seeding the August 2021 security patch to various Galaxy devices, but that doesn't mean the company is done with previous releases. Various smartphone models remain queued up for the July security update, and the Galaxy A51 5G is next in line to receive it.
The 4G model was the first to be updated with the July 2021 security patch a couple of weeks ago when the rollout began in Russia. Now, the Galaxy A51 5G (SM-A516B) in the UK is getting a new firmware update that includes the same security patch.
The new Galaxy A51 5G update carries firmware version A516BXXU4CUG4, which suggests that the package could contain more than just a newer security level. Nevertheless, the phone's been running Android 11 and One UI 3.1 since April, so it's not wise to expect any groundbreaking changes to the user interface with this latest release.
Addressing Bluetooth-related vulnerabilities
As detailed by Samsung last month, the July 2021 security patch addresses various issues found within Android OS and Samsung's software, including Bluetooth vulnerabilities that affect Galaxy devices powered by the Exynos 7570 and Exynos 980 chipsets.
The Galaxy A51 5G is one of these devices. It has the Exynos 980 SoC under the hood, so make sure to download and install the new firmware update as soon as possible to maintain a high level of security for your device.
You can download the latest firmware update with the July 2021 security patch in tow by tapping the update notification when it arrives, or by opening Settings on the phone, accessing Software update, and tapping Download and install. You can also skip these steps and download the new Galaxy A51 5G update from our firmware database.
