Samsung's excellent software support policy promises four generations of OS upgrades for many phones from 2021 and 2022, while many phones from 2020 and earlier were eligible for three major upgrades. The Galaxy A51 and the Galaxy A51 5G both fall in the latter camp, and now, at least the 5G model has started getting what will be its third and last big update.
Xfinity Mobile has rolled out the Android 13 and One UI 5.0 update to the Galaxy A51 5G in the US. This marks the first time Android 13 is being released for either Galaxy A51 model anywhere in the world, and surprisingly it's one of the smaller North American carriers that has taken the lead here.
Galaxy A51 5G One UI 5.0 update has finally arrived
Galaxy A51 5G owners on the Xfinity network can now enjoy the latest and greatest Android and Samsung's One UI skin have to offer. The update is being rolled out over the air (which you can download from the phone's Settings » Software update menu) and comes bundled with the latest security fixes; the full firmware is also available in our archives for anyone wanting to manually jump the gun, so to speak, to Android 13 using a Windows PC.
Android 13 and One UI 5.0 bring a lot of new features, including some fleshed out lock screen customization options (which, admittedly, will be pointless for many users), improved security and privacy, faster performance and smoother animations, and more. You can check out our videos below for a complete rundown of all that's new with the update (while keeping in mind that not all of it might be available on the A51 5G given it's a mid-range phone that's been on the market for more than two years).
