Samsung had started rolling out the July 2021 security update in the last week of June, and various Galaxy smartphones and tablets have received it already. Even last year's mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy A51, received the July 2021 update last week. However, the Galaxy A51 5G is just now getting access to the June 2021 security update.

The Galaxy A51 5G (SM-A516B) has started getting a new software update in Taiwan. The new update, which has firmware version A516BXXS4CUG1, includes the June 2021 security patch that fixes more than six dozen security and privacy-related vulnerabilities. The new update specifically fixes vulnerabilities present in various Exynos processors, and the Galaxy A51 5G uses an Exynos 980 processor. The update is expected to expand to more countries over the next few days.

If you are a Galaxy A51 5G user in Taiwan, you can either wait for the OTA update to arrive on its own or check for the update manually. If you want to check for the update manually, you can navigate to Settings » Software update and tap on Download and install. You can also choose to download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A51 5G in mid-2020, and it became one of the best-selling Samsung smartphones last year. It was launched with Android 10-based One UI 2, but it received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update a few months ago.
