Yet another Samsung phone is being updated with the latest security patch. Which one? It's the Galaxy A51 (LTE), and it's getting the April 2022 update.
Samsung has released the April 2022 security patch for the Galaxy A51 (SM-A515F), but as of this writing, the update is available only in Russia. Galaxy A51 (LTE) customers in Russia should look for firmware number A515FXXU5FVD2.
The firmware version suggests that the update could bring additional changes and/or features aside from the April security patch, but the changelog is missing. It might carry more details once the update reaches other markets outside of Russia.
The April 2022 security patch contains dozens of fixes and addresses the Dirty Pipe vulnerability, though the latter was never an issue for the Galaxy A51. It only affected newer devices that shipped with Android 12, such as the Galaxy S22 series.
Eligible Galaxy A51 customers should be able to download the update from the Settings app on their phones. Or they can download the official firmware files from our website and install the update manually using Samsung's Odin tool.
