The Galaxy A51 hasn't received the August 2022 security update yet, but Samsung is rolling out a huge new software update for the mid-range smartphone. The update doesn't bring any new features, but it still has a huge download size of close to 1GB (954.59MB). The update has been released in Germany, and we expect it to roll out in more countries within the next few days.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A51 comes with firmware version A515FXXU5FVG4. According to the changelog, its security patch level is still July 2022, which is two months old now. The update focuses on improving device stability and reliability. It also seems to improve the Galaxy A51's security aspects.
If you are a Galaxy A51 user in Germany, you can download the new software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. It is advised to back up all your data before starting the manual flashing process.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A51 in early 2020 with Android 10 onboard. The mid-range smartphone received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in early 2021 and the Android 12-based One UI 4 update earlier this year. It might receive its next major Android OS update next year.
