Last week, Samsung released the March 2024 security patch to the Galaxy A52. Now, the company has started rolling out the same security update to the Galaxy A52 5G. At the moment, the update is live for the international variant of the device, which comes with the model number SM-A526B. Expect the tech giant to extend the update to the carrier-locked and carrier-unlocked versions of the phone soon.
The new firmware for the Galaxy A52 5G carries version A526BXXS6FXC4. The March 2024 security patch it brings fixes 45 security vulnerabilities. Of those, 36 fixes are from Google and 9 fixes are from Samsung. Currently, the update is live in almost all European countries. To get the update, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. You can also download the firmware from our database.
The Galaxy A52 5G will get periodic security updates only for one more year (till 2025). It means that the phone will not be as safe to use after that as it is now. As such, now would be a good time for you to think about upgrading to a new device. The newly-launched Galaxy A55 would be an ideal upgrade if you are looking for an A-series device. For around the same price, you could also grab the Galaxy S23 FE.
