Samsung is securing the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52s against a critical security vulnerability with the latest software update. The two phones are receiving the August 2024 security patch in various parts of the world.
The Galaxy A52 update went live in Russia earlier this week. The Galaxy A52s is getting the update in some European countries. The former can be identified by the build number A525FXXS8FXG3 and the latter by A528BXXS9GXG5.
August 2024 update fixes 50 security vulnerabilities on the Galaxy A52 lineup
The update doesn't appear to be available for the Galaxy A52 5G. In fact, the A52 5G seems to be getting last month's security patch in some markets right now, so its August update may come a few days later. We'll let you know once that happens.
The August security patch offers protection against a total of 50 vulnerabilities. One of the vulnerabilities is more dangerous than the rest, as it allows attackers to easily gain unauthorized access to devices to Android devices, both Samsung and non-Samsung.
You can check for updates on your Galaxy A52 or A52s by opening its Settings app, navigating to Software update, and tapping Download and install. Firmware for both phones are available for download in the SamMobile archives, which you can use for manually upgrading to the latest software version with a Windows PC and a USB cable.
