The May 2023 security update for the Galaxy A52 has reached more countries, following the initial release of the update in select markets last week. The Galaxy A52 is the second A52 model to get the new security update. It was first released for the A52 5G, and hopefully the Galaxy A52s will soon be added to the list.
The latest update for the Galaxy A52 doesn't bring any new features or improvements. It only has the security fixes found in the May 2023 security patch for Android and Samsung's own software. More than 70 security fixes are bundled in this update, with six of them considered critical. Details are available here for those interested.
Galaxy A52 owners can download the new update directly on their phone through the Settings » Software menu. The update may not show up immediately, in which case you will want to wait a bit and try again. If you don't want to wait, you can take the manual flashing route by downloading the latest firmware from our archives.
Galaxy A52 will get one last major Android and One UI update in the coming months
For those wondering, the Galaxy A52 will get the Android 14 and One UI 6.0 update in late 2023/early 2024. It will be the last major firmware update for all three Galaxy A52 models, as they launched running Android 11 and aren't eligible for a fourth big Android and One UI update. And until Android 14 comes out, expect Galaxy A52 updates to come with nothing but security fixes for the next few months.
