Samsung has finally released the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy A52s 5G. It has been a few days since the South Korean firm released its new security update to the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A53, and the Galaxy M53, and people were starting to wonder when would the Galaxy A52s 5G start getting the update.
Since this is a minor security update, don't expect to find new features on your phone.
Galaxy A52s 5G May 2023 security update: What is new?
The May 2023 security update for the Galaxy A52s 5G comes with firmware version A528BXXS3EWD5. The update is currently available in Mexico, and we expect the update to be released in other Latin American countries within the next few days and in other regions around the world over the next few weeks. The May 2023 security patch fixes over 70 vulnerabilities found in Galaxy smartphones.
If you have a Galaxy A52s 5G in Mexico, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. However, you would need a Windows PC and the Samsung Odin tool installed on it.
Samsung released the Galaxy A52s 5G in late 2021 after there was a shortage of Exynos chips that were found inside the Galaxy A52. The phone debuted with Android 11 onboard and received the Android 12 update in late 2021. Toward the end of 2022, Samsung released the Android 13-based One UI 5 update to the Galaxy A52s 5G.
