While Galaxy A52s users are waiting for the Android 14 update, Samsung has released a new security update to the smartphone. Yes, the popular mid-range smartphone has started getting the December 2023 security update in the US, and the new software is available for both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked units.

Galaxy A52s gets December 2023 security update in the US for locked and unlocked models
The new software update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A52s is now available in the US with firmware version A526USQSCEWK3. The update is currently rolling out on Comcast, Metro PCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile networks in the country. The factory-unlocked version of the Galaxy A52s comes bearing firmware version A526U1UESCEWK3 and is available on all carrier networks in the US.
This is just a security update, which fixes around 75 security flaws found in the previous software version. Don't expect it to bring new features or performance improvements. You can expect those things with the next software update for the Galaxy A52s. If you have a Galaxy A52s in the US, you can now install the new update by opening the Settings app and navigating to Software update » Download and install. You can also flash the firmware manually after downloading the firmware file from our database. You would also need a PC with the Windows OS and the Odin tool for that process.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A52s in mid-2021 with Android 11 onboard. The device received the Android 12 update in late 2021 and the Android 13 update in late 2022. It is expected to get the Android 14 update before the end of this month.
