Samsung started the rollout of the July 2023 security update with the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S23 last week. Later, the update was also released to the Galaxy A53 in some markets. Now, its predecessor, the Galaxy A52s, has started getting the new security update in some European countries.
The latest software update for the Galaxy A52s 5G comes bearing firmware version A528BXXS4EWG1. The 260MB update is currently rolling out in Poland, but we expect it to release in more European countries very soon. So, if you have a Galaxy A52s and live in Europe, keep checking for the new update. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database once it becomes available. Then, you can manually flash it using a computer running the Windows operating system and the Odin tool.
The July 2023 security patch that the new update brings to the Galaxy A52s brings fixes for over 90 security vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the software. It doesn't bring any new features or performance enhancements.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A52s a few months after launching the Galaxy A52 due to chipset shortage issues. The Snapdragon 778G processor used in the Galaxy A52s is much more powerful than the Snapdragon 720G used in the Galaxy A52 and the Snapdragon 750G used in the Galaxy A52 5G. The phone received the Android 12 update in late 2021 and the Android 13 update in late 2022.
