The Galaxy A52s, Samsung's most powerful mid-range phone before the Galaxy A55 stole its crown, is getting the latest security update in select markets. The September 2024 update is rolling out to the A52s in Europe and sports the build number A528BXXS9GXH2.
This update doesn't bring One UI 6.1.1 to the Galaxy A52s, but you probably knew that already. In fact, it only brings the latest security fixes, following an update that improved general stability and reliability on the Galaxy A52 series phones. The Galaxy A52 and A52 5G could get the September security update later this week.
More details after the video below…
It is unclear if Samsung plans to bring One UI 6.1.1 to the Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A52s, or any other mid-range phone for that matter. Since mid-range Galaxy phones don't have access to Galaxy AI, they will most likely get One UI 6.1.1's non-AI features and improvements bundled with Android 15 and One UI 7.0.
Unfortunately, none of the Galaxy A52 models are eligible for Android 15 and One UI 7.0. Samsung will hopefully give them One UI 6.1.1 as a last hurrah before restricting the A52 lineup to security updates, though we wouldn't hold our breath.
Once it is available in your country, you will be able to download the new software update on your Galaxy A52s from its Settings » Software update menu. You will also find the latest Galaxy A52s firmware in the SamMobile firmware library.
