Samsung is rolling out a new software update for yet another Galaxy smartphone. This time it's the Galaxy A52s, which is getting its second new update in Brazil after the release of One UI 5.1. The same update should make its way to more markets in the future, but at this time its availability is quite limited.
The latest Galaxy A52s update brings the April 2023 security patch, which fixes more than 60 vulnerabilities found in Android and Samsung's software. The update is accompanied by the firmware version A528BXXU2EWC5 and can be downloaded and installed directly on the phone through its Settings » Software update menu or with the help of a Windows PC and the firmware files available in our archive.
Going by the firmware version, this new Galaxy A52s update doesn't just bring the April security patch to the device. Unfortunately, no changelog is available right now. In fact, Samsung Brazil has not updated its Galaxy A52s changelog page since the release of the Android 12 and One UI 4 a year ago, so we'll have to wait for the update to reach other markets for more details.
Speaking of Android and One UI versions, the Galaxy A52s (along with its siblings, the A52 and A52 5G) is eligible for Android 14 (which is now available in beta for Google Pixel devices) and One UI 6.0. That will be its final major update, following which A52s owners will get mostly security updates for a year or so.
