Last week, Samsung released the latest security update for the Galaxy A53 in the USA. Now, the update is now out in Europe. The A53's February update started rolling out earlier today and shouldn't take long to become widely available in the region.
The firmware version accompanying the update is A536BXXS8DXA1. It doesn't bring any new features or improvements to performance and stability. The February 2024 security patch is all that is included.
The February 2024 security patch includes a total of 72 security fixes according to Samsung's security bulletin. Out of those, 61 fixes come from Google and 11 fixes are exclusive to Samsung devices. Three of the total fixes are marked critical while the rest are considered moderate or high-risk.
As usual, downloading the latest update is as easy as opening the phone's Settings app, selecting Software update, and hitting the Download and install button. If you prefer manual updates, you can download the latest firmware from our archive and flash it on your Galaxy A53 using a Windows PC and a USB cable.
Before you ask, yes, the Galaxy A53 is eligible for the One UI 6.1 update. However, you may have to wait a few months for the update to go live for your phone, as Samsung is taking its sweet time with the development of One UI 6.1 for devices launched before the Galaxy S24 series. The Galaxy A53 will also miss out on the Galaxy S4's AI features.
