After releasing the Android 14 update in the fourth quarter of last year, Samsung is continuing to release the new security update. The Galaxy A53 is the latest Samsung phone to get the January 2024 security update, and it is available in Europe and the USA. Several other mid-range and high-end smartphones have already received the security update.
The new software update for the Galaxy A53 is now available, and it comes with firmware version A536BXXS8DWL5 in Europe. It is rolling out in Austria, Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the UK, and it could be released in more European countries soon. The update is also available for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53, and it comes with firmware version A536USQS9DXA4.
If you have a Galaxy A53 in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update. To do that, open the Settings app on your phone and navigate to Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually. You would need a computer running Windows OS and the Odin tool.
The new update brings the January 2024 security patch that fixes around 75 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. The Galaxy A53 received the Android 14 update last month. The device launched last year with Android 13 onboard.
