Galaxy A53 5G gets June 2023 security update in the US

Samsung has released a new security update to the Galaxy A53 5G in the US. Earlier, the company released the June 2023 security update to various other mid-range phones, including the Galaxy A23, Galaxy A51, Galaxy A51 5G, Galaxy A52, and Galaxy A73. Even the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 received the update a few days ago in the US.

Galaxy A53 June 2023 security update: What's new?

The unlocked version of the Galaxy A53 5G is getting the new software update with firmware version A536U1UES6CWE4 in the US. It includes the June 2023 security patch that fixes over 60 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets. The new update is currently available on all the major networks in the country. It doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements.

If you have a Galaxy A53 5G in the US, you can now check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also choose to download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G early last year with Android 12 onboard and promised to release four major software updates to the device. The phone received the Android 13 update late last year and the One UI 5.1 update a few months ago. It will get the Android 14 update later this year.
