Earlier this week, Samsung started rolling out the May 2022 security update to the Galaxy A53. However, the update was limited to the non-US markets. Now, the update has been released to the US variant of the Galaxy A53.
The latest software update for the carrier-unlocked version of the Galaxy A53 comes with firmware version A536U1UES2AVE1. The update brings the May 2022 security patch that fixes various privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It might also bring general bug fixes and improved stability.
If you are a Galaxy A53 user in the US with a carrier-unlocked model, you can download and install the latest software update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.
Samsung had launched the Galaxy A53 alongside the Galaxy A33 and the Galaxy A73 earlier this year. All smartphones run Android 12-based One UI 4.1 out of the box. And all of them have been promised four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates.
