A few days ago, Samsung released the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy M53 5G. And today, the company released the new software for the Galaxy A53 5G. More Galaxy A series mid-rangers have already started getting Samsung's latest security update.
The May 2023 security update for the Galaxy A53 bumps up the phone's firmware version to A536EXXS5CWE1. The update is currently available in Latin American countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala, Panama, and Paraguay. More Latin American countries will get the update within the next few days. We are hopeful that Samsung will expand the update's availability to more countries worldwide before the end of this month.
Samsung has included fixes for over 70 security flaws found in Galaxy phones and tablets in its May 2023 security update. No new features have been added to the Galaxy A53 5G's new update.

If you have a Galaxy A53 5G and if you live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download the new software update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G early last year with Android 12 onboard and promised to release four major Android OS updates to the device. As promised, it released the Android 13 update to the Galaxy A53 5G in 2022. The phone also received the One UI 5.1 update earlier this year. It will get three more Android OS updates in the future, including the Android 14-based One UI 6 update later this year.
