Samsung is continuing the rollout of the October 2023 security update to more phones. The Galaxy A53 is now getting the new security update in three regions, and we expect other regions across the world to get the new update within the next couple of weeks.
Galaxy A53 getting October 2023 security update in Europe, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the US
The Galaxy A53 is getting the October 2023 security update with firmware version A536BXXS7CWI1 in several European countries, including Austria, Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the UK. This update fixes dozens of security flaws that were found in the previous version of the software for the device. It doesn't bring any new features or performance updates.
In the US, the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy A53 has started getting the update with firmware version A536USQS8CWI1, and it is available on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile networks. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, the phone is getting the new security update with firmware version A5360ZHS7CWI1.
If you have a Galaxy A53 5G and live in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can check for the new update on your device by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
