Another Galaxy smartphone is being updated to Android 14 and One UI 6.0 in the US this week. Unlocked Galaxy A54 units started getting Android 14 stateside a few hours back, following a release for carrier-locked models last month, and Samsung is now turning its attention towards the Galaxy A53.
The official One UI 6 update for the Galaxy A53 made its debut in late November, and it is now available in the US. Like the Galaxy A54, the Galaxy A53 is getting the update on carrier-locked models first, and it could take a few weeks for the unlocked model to join the party.
The update is accompanied by firmware version A536USQU8DWK7 and includes the November 2023 security patch. It's a 2.4GB download over the air, so you should try and download it over a Wi-Fi connection if possible. To check if the update is available for your phone, open its settings, select Software update, and tap Download and install.
Android 14/One UI 6 is a massive update that enhances the user experience by improving existing features and introducing a lot of new features. For the Galaxy A53, this is the second major Android OS upgrade, and it will get Android 15 and Android 16 in the next two years. In the near future, you can expect it to receive One UI 6.1, which will debut on the Galaxy S24 in mid-January.
Thanks for the tip!
