There are plenty of Samsung devices that have support for Google's software-based augmented reality platform ARCore. New smartphones and tablets tend to pick up support for the platform not long after they're released.
That's the case now for the Galaxy A53 5G, Samsung's latest and greatest mid-range smartphone. It now supports ARCore in addition to several other Galaxy devices.
ARCore experiences now available on the Galaxy A53
Google's aim with ARCore is to enable augmented reality experiences for users without requiring special hardware. Developers use ARCore to create augmented reality apps and games that are compatible with supported devices.
The ARCore certification for a device is provided after its camera, CPU and motion sensors are tested to ensure that they work properly and have been appropriately calibrated so that they're able to offer an optimized AR experience.
Google has now updated its list of devices that have ARCore support. The Galaxy A53 5G is one of Samsung's newest phones in 2022 and has rightly found a place on the list. Other devices that have also been added include the Galaxy A33 5G, the Galaxy F23 5G, Galaxy M23 5G and the Galaxy M33 5G. Samsung's Galaxy Tab A8 has also received ARCore support.
Users who own any of these devices will now be able to take full advantage of all the ARCore apps and games available.
