The October 2022 security patch is now available for another mid-range Samsung phone, or more specifically, the Galaxy A53 5G. Samsung is rolling out the update for the device in Europe (model number SM-A536B).
The update carries the A536BXXS4AVJ1 identification, and as you can probably tell by the “S” in the mode number, the update contains only the October 2022 security patch. There are no new changes or features added to One UI.
As of this writing, the update is available in a handful of countries across Europe, including Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Poland, Czech Republic, France, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Ireland, and the UK. But as usual, the firmware should pick up speed soon enough and reach the Galaxy A53 5G in more markets.
This month's security patch addresses 32 vulnerabilities in Android OS and 18 Samsung security flaws, some of which allowed unauthorized access to device serial numbers, secure memory content, call information, and more.
Galaxy A53 5G owners in markets where the October 2022 security update is available can down it upon receiving the notification or by opening the Settings app on the phone, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” As always, we offer the official firmware files on our website if you want to skip the wait or prefer downloading and installing updates manually using your PC.
