Yesterday, Samsung released a software update to the Galaxy A54 that offered Google’s Circle to Search as well as the August 2024 security patch to the phone. However, the company had made it available only for the variant of the device that it sells in Europe. Now, the brand is expanding the update to the carrier-locked variant of the phone for the United States, which has the model number SM-A546U.

The latest update carries firmware version A546VSQU8CXH1. You can get it by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. If you don’t see an update after following those steps, then it means that Samsung hasn't made it available for your device yet and it might take a few days to reach your device. However, if you are eager to try out the new feature, you can download it from our database.

The story continues after the video…

With Circle to Search, you can search for anything on the display by just drawing a circle around it. It can also let you search for a song that is playing nearby or by just humming it. You can summon this useful feature anywhere by just pressing and holding the home button or the navigation handle. As for the August 2024 security patch, it fixes 50 security issues. You can check them out in our dedicated article.
